RATES: Something to Live For, Masculine Energy & Misogi
What even is masculine energy? Are men's circles the way to go? What's your misogi challenge?

📚 Something to Live For. Great fiction book with a lonely male protagonist who tells convoluted lies about his life at work. Hard hitting and up-lifting. (HARD RECOMMEND)
🎬 The Banshees of Inisherin. A film that actually portrays the complexity of men and male friendships without showing men as unflappable superheroes or predatory brutes. Very good.
📲 Mark Zuckerberg calls for more “masculine energy” at work. This is a fascinating debate that’s now getting a lot of air-time. 1) What is masculine energy? 2) Is masculine energy only exhibited in men? 3) Do companies need more of it?
I don’t have all the answers, but I’m learning a lot through writing about it. Some of the comments on this LinkedIn post are helping me understand more.
⭕️ Men’s Circles. The more I explore what’s on the market for men, the more that men’s circles come up. The idea of getting together with a group of men once a week to talk, sounds quite intense and scary, but it’s probably what a lot of men would benefit from.
🏔️ Misogi. The Misogi is a Japanese ritual that’s been popularised by Jesse Itzler. Its’a challenge so big that it defines your year and lots of men find this concept really inspiring as a way to give your year direction and meaning.
